The Decision
Our official decision to adopt came about 3 months after our last failed IVF attempt in February of 2006. We could have continued this route... after all the shots and hot flashes were something to look forward to every day (a little humor). There is always that part of you that says "just one more time". And, we honestly believed that we were
going to be blessed with a child this way. But, we didn't want to take it too far; we decided that since adoption was something we also wanted to do for our family, and I had always felt led to do so, we would move on to the next step in our future. A child would be a blessing no matter her delivery! Don't let us fool you, it was still difficult to close the door to bearing a child. Lots of questions and definitely a grieving period involved. In the end, we will love her the very same. She will be our miracle. We're thankful to have the options!
