Gracie's first pair of shoes

So, I decided to go shopping for my secret pal today. The secret pal I am shopping for is a part of our Ladybug/Red Thread Believers group. We are having a "cyber shower" this month, with a theme of "bath time." How fun, huh? I had so much fun looking for bath stuff, and I love trying to be as creative as I can! I did accomplish what I set out to do, but of course, as I made my rounds through the baby department, these little shoes caught my eye, and I just had to have them for Gracie! (I hope they'll fit her at some point in her life, and if not, we will donate them, so no love lost!) NOTICE THE LADYBUGS!!

My first diaper bag for KGC

For my Believers yahoo group of friends, we are posting pictures of any/all of our diaper bags. Since KG will be our first child, this is my first and only for Gracie! I had it monogrammed at the Arts/Crafts gift sale at the church. I just had to have it, it was so cute. I am interested in finding the perfect backpack style diaper bag,too. But, I think I have plenty of time for that!

Brad picked out this PB Kids diaper bag for himself (how cute, huh?). We made this purchase the weekend we bought the nursery bedding. It is a very nice size, and has lots of pockets with a changing pad!

So, that is it for us right now... with the purse obsession I have, I can only imagine what is in store for the diaper bag collection! I'll have to have a part time job just to cover the added expense :)

Shhh..it's a Surprise for Daddy (the Nursery)

Yesterday marked a milestone in the journey, twofold. We were notified of DTC, and the furniture we ordered was ready for pickup. Today, I am surprising Brad by having the furniture delivered, and the crib put together, before he gets home.

This is Willie. He was referred to me from the store...what fun to be a part of setting up rooms for babies coming home. Willie has two daugthers of his own, 23 yrs old, and a sophmore at USF.

I can picture KG in her crib, sound asleep and peaceful. The nursery is coming together. We still need to decide if we like the armoire and the dresser/changing table where they are placed. We have some time to feel it out. Not sure I love the lamp. Lots of details to work on, nowhere near complete. But for now, we are completely satisfied with the progress!

Nursery Progress Day 3

Paula and I stenciled the dragonflys and ladybugs above the window today. It truly took both of us because the paint jar was hard to hold during the process, and I couldn't let go of the stencil once I started painting or it would have been a big mess! I got a work out, and we loved the result.


We decided that Paula was much better at sewing (you could say my experience is slim to none), so Paula hemmed the sheers and the panels, and helped iron all of them, too. I think I ironed one of the four (another weakness...I was a bit too slow)!

I am so excited about hanging her first name on the wall. I was the painter today, so I painted the letters and attached the ribbon. I couldn't wait to see the finished product! We tried sponging the letters first, but it really didn't look great, so we decided to use the same solid mulberry color we stenciled with for the ladybugs and dragonflys.

Daddy's home! We needed to measure, level, anchor, and drill the rod for the panels, and add the tie back bars to each side for the days we want the light to shine in. The drapes are heavy and lined for the afternoon naps...

The first picture on the left really shows the truest shade of the paint color in the room. And, since we have been in this room most of the day, Macy has found her corner. Window treatments are done, and the letters are hung with care :-)

Now, the furniture should be here over the next week or so. I am picking up the mattress tomorrow. Still looking for a lamp to place above the armoire, and a rug that is just perfect. That will take some time, and we have it, that's for sure!

We can't wait to see you, Kylie Grace. We hope you'll love your new room as much as we've loved putting it together (if that is even possible)!

The Start of Something Beautiful

Paula and I cleared out the 2nd guest room, that was thankfully painted in preparation for the nursery while we were going through the fertility treatments. It is a very pale green with ivory trim. Brad and I bought the bedding for the crib over the Labor Day weekend at Pottery Barn (that is the quilt on the floor beneath the window, and the bumper is in the rocking chair).

We also found the window treatments today!
